Britain’s finest cabaret performer, Barb Jungr, released her cult classic album Every Grain of Sand in 2002. It cemented her status as the world’s finest interpreter of Bob Dylan’s music, making the Top Ten Jazz Albums of the Year in The Sunday Times, Daily Telegraph and Washington Post, and described by the Wall Street Journal in 2013 as ‘the most significant vocal album of the twenty first century thus far.’
Variously labelled by critics as magnificent, mesmerising and magical, Barb has built a formidable reputation as an international live performer and recording artiste. Known for her passionate singing, subtle arrangements and great humour, she has perfected the art of interpretation to such a level that listeners are often astonished to discover that well-known songs that they thought they knew, have been wonderfully transformed and very often elevated when Barb weaves her magic spell.
Ranked at the top of Time Out, New York’s best cabaret awards for her enthralling live shows, Barb has also made programmes regularly for BBC Radios 2, 3 and 4 as well as appearing on Woman’s Hour, Kaleidoscope and Saturday Live amongst others.
Her first album of Bob Dylan songs has won a dedicated following around the world from fans and critic alike, with Jeremy Irons even naming it as a must-have albums on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.
