Surviving a childhood on the infamous Falls Road, West Belfast at the height of its hellish history, Brian Kennedy has gone on to carve an extraordinary career in music. He busked on the dangerous streets of his hometown, and then London, saving up enough money for a guitar and living in squats before eventually being discovered by the now legendary Svengali Simon Fuller (Pop Idol, Annie Lennox, The Spice Girls).

Over a 25 years career Brian has toured the world, as a hugely acclaimed solo performer and as guest lead singer for Van Morrison’s Blues and Soul Revue, sharing vocal duties with Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker and Van Morrison himself, to name but a few.

Brian’s own albums consistently topped the charts with A Better Man and Now That I Know What I Want both reaching number one in Ireland, achieving quadruple platinum status and earning him the Irish Music Industry Awards for Best Male Artist and Best Male Album, while his heart wrenching live performance of You Raise Me Up at the funeral of George Best earned Brian a spot in the Top 5 of the UK charts.

He is a natural TV and radio host, and has been lead performer on diverse international stages, from nine months heading New York’s Riverdance on Broadway to representing Ireland in Eurovision, but it is still up close, live and solo where Brian’s talents come into their own.
