When your life’s a joke it’s time to stand up! Reaching a crossroads in his personal life, university lecturer Martin Dawson (Nick Figgis) decides to retreat into the arms of his parents, Len and Joan (John Godber and Jane Thornton). On a weekend break at a cottage in the countryside, however, his parents' constant bickering, nitpicking and long conversations about nothing lead the already stressed out Martin to a rather sinister conclusion... A comedy based on the successful stage play Weekend Breaks by the BAFTA winning writer of Up N Under, Bouncers and Teechers, John Godber, and played out against a backdrop of Hull, Whitby and the North York Moors.

This film is rated 12A
